Most of you know I lost the love of my life a little over three year ago. I started spending time with a friend of ours who Sherrie, my wife already knew and introduced me to. Anyhow she is retired and single. She has a passion for travel and right now she is on a 5 week trip to Africa. She sends me daily up dates of her travels along with pictures so I can enjoy the trip with her.She is just wrapping up the first leg of her trip which was Rwanda where she wanted to see the Gorillas.
In todays pictures

she said it was a young male who started off running towards her beating his chest but when she just stood there looking at him he stopped and looked back making faces at her
The last picture is Pam visiting a school. She retired as a school superintendent and spent her entire career in education. She seems to be in her element. Not too bad for a 72 year old lady

Very cool! It's also cool to think about that fact that someone on the other side of the world can easily send daily update photos using just a little device that fits in a pocket. :thumb:

well she does miss a few days when she has no cell service but so far it only been twice....lol
from here she will go to South Africa spend a few days in Johannesberg (needs to get her nails done) then on to Zimbabwe, Zambia and finally botswana. Shell be back her in Arizona on Feb 23rd.

Well that's just all kinds of awesome. What a world we do live in nowadays.

Do you have a hankerin to do traveling like that?

The problem is I hate air travel. I spent over 30 years of my career getting on and off airplanes weekly so getting on an airplane has lost all appeal to me. She's trying to get me to go with her. She going to Morocco and France in May and then Australia and New Zealand in October. It would take to long to get there on my Harley.

I get it. I used to travel a bit for work. Never liked travel much and I like it even less now.

Barcodes on the hoof. I hope she is using a real camera and not the cell phone for these, but the two that I checked were by cell phone. Some great pictures there, though.

Yeah my cell camera is at least twice as good as any of my "real" cameras at this point. I'm not sure if that says more about me, my cameras or my cell phone... I'm also wondering if I should get a new camera.. but honestly I don't generally feel the lack so probably won't heh.

Considering they're all watermarked with "Galaxy S22 Ultra", I'd say they're shot with a phone. The native camera in that phone is pretty impressive at 108 megapixels. In the optical zoom mode (which I'm assuming these were shot at) it's 10 megapixels. From the look of these photos, I'm guessing there was some digital zoom (and saturation/contrast bumping) involved as well. They're still cool shots, though. :thumb: And I can see how toting around a phone would be a lot easier than a dedicated camera rig on a long trip like this.

The previous pictures were all from Rwanda. She has spent the last coupla days in Johannasburg South Africa, she said there was a lot of problems with Crime so she pretty much stayed in town with an driver taking here around. I am sure if Rob Keeble was around he could enlighten us on the crime in South Africa. It was a chance for her to get her nails and laundry done before proceeding with the next leg of her trip. Now thank goodness she is at a private Game reserve in South Africa, away from the city and the crime. She is at the Karongngwe game reserve in South Africa. Here some highlights of this part of her trip.
