Well i knew i should not throw anything away (says the hoarder to himself) however in an attempt to reform i tossed out a spare bedside table in our most recent move.
Well Mil decided to come visit after the wedding so SWMBO ordered up a new nightstand or she would go out and buy one.
So i took inspiration from Jimmy Diresta and finally got chance to put his idea of strips fixed to plywood into practice as a practice for a bigger attempt someday.
Then to avoid making joints and legs decided on an industrial look and got the welder out and with a bit of angle iron and square tuning knocked together a frame for the top.
Sorry dont have a finished pic its being used but will update when Mil is gone.
Was a quick fun project that tested my recent power hook up as well so i was happy.
The top is a base of 3/8 ply covered with 1/8 thick cherry strips simply glued and nailed with 23 gauge nails.
Then sanded and varnished.
Drops into the angle iron frame.
