Very cool! Here they call them “fancy buzzards”. We have a pair nesting here on the farm, been trying to keep the armadillo population thinned and helping to feed them. I’ll try to get some nest pics sometime.

Ha, I don't know if I'd say that, but my D50 was a solid piece of kit. I've upgraded a couple of times since then, but the D50 never let me down.

My wife’s cousin took a few pics of our eagles and their nest on our neighbors property this past weekend. They have at least two youngsters in the nest this year.

Majestic birds indeed. I remember reading my Weekly Reader in first grade about the bald eagles and alligators going to be extinct in a few years. Natural Resources people have really had successes. On the flip side, small dogs, cats, newborn calves, lambs, are easy prey and they are hard on them as they are an easier food source. The domino effect is real. When the DNR was successful with the deer population, coyotes were introduced. Coyote populations getting high led to wolf reintroduction. Just hope they don't become as common as the sparrow or blackbirds.

Saw one flying upriver yesterday. Was a time when one was spotted it was news worthy. Now pretty common, which is an awesome thing.
