I finished this up actually yesterday. Had some things to do and just now getting it online and posted here. I made the hole 1 3/4" not being sure of the diameter of some our coins that are larger than quarters. The diameter and total height are 3 3/4". The vessel height is 2 3/4" with a depth of 2 1/4". Volume measured at 1 cup. Sealed the wood with walnut oil and the finishing was done with shellac with a bit of walnut oil wax mixed in.

That's a clever little idea... I might steal that someday... if I can get enough *& cleared out of the way to get back into my lathe (there were a few.. events.. things happen lets say.. no permanent issues).
