I haven't turned much of anything in the last few weeks but I have had the time recently to photograph or at least ready some pictures of a few items that I turned this year but haven't posted.
This is a rather large box in Big Leaf Maple burl at 2 3/4" tall and 4" in diameter. For most woods I would not turn a box this large because of wood movement problems but this type of burl seems resistant, for the most part, to movement problems that might affect the fit of the lid. The box is a little gnarly with voids and bark inclusions.
