I was looking at the vise on my wife’s gg-grandfathers workbench to see who made it.
Turns out it was casted for the Wisconsin Rapids Vocational School by the Nekoosa Foundry.
I’ve not found much info on the vise. The city name was change to Wisconsin Rapids in 1920 from Grand Rapids, apparently for postal reasons. And the vocational schools were mostly setup after the depression, so guessing it’s from the late 30’s, early 40’s. Other than needing some cleaning it still functions ok.
