    Elm Bowl

I finished this elm bowl up a couple nights ago. It's one half of a crotch I found along the road a few months ago. It' just over 10" round and 2.5" high. Had some tearout in the center that I couldn't get rid of, but it has some crazy grain. Finished with danish oil and wax.

I haven't turned anything in quite awhile, but I have plenty of fresh wood now! :D Last month my dad and I scored a BIG load of walnut (pic 1) and last night I picked up about 7 pieces of elm (pic 2)...The elm was dripping wet when I unloaded it...hope to turn some of it tonight!
