    A few pens

After seeing Jim's and Les' posts I almost don't want to show these; they don't hold a candle to them! This is just basic stuff, meant to sell quickly at a show next month. I think it's wise to have stuff like this on hand just to keep out if the red when I do shows. I expect to have plenty...

    8 hackberry bowls

A few months ago my neighbor lost a small hackberry tree to a storm. She let me take as much as I wanted, which wasn't a lot but enough to keep me busy for a little while. These range from 6" to 8", all have a buffed DO finish.

    Large Cherry Bowl

Here is a bowl that I turned some time ago--roughed out in fall of 07 and finish turned in spring of 08. I finished it with Salad Bowl Finish, and didn't buff it out until a month ago. It sold at a show I did this past weekend. It's about 17 x 5.

    Mora Vessel w/ Beech Pedestal

Here is a piece that I turned from a 2 x 8 x 8 piece of Mora. It is a hard, dense wood that takes finish well. I used Teak Oil for finish; it required only two coats. The pedestal is Beech; it required an additional coat of finish. I Beall buffed the piece as well. Comments welcome. Here...

A couple more from the coring tool

I've been giving my McNaughton tool a fair amount of use in the last few months. Here is a set that I recently completed. The larger is about 8.5 x 5.5; the smaller is about 6 x 3.75. This wood came from a tree I cut from out of a co-worker's yard, which I initially thought to be poplar. I...

    Mahogany "open" vase

Here's another piece I meant to post a few days ago and forgot. Mahogany, about 4 x 6.5, with a buffed DO finish. It looked a little too "plain jane" so I tried spicing it up a bit by inserting sycamore plugs. Used a Oneway Drill Wizard to drill the holes opposite one another and at graduated...

    Birch Wings

I meant to post this several days ago and forgot. Here's a piece from a Birch tree root that I scored a while back. The form was pretty much dictated by the amount of solid wood that there was. It's about 7" at the wings. Turned start to finish and allowed to dry. You can see where the...

    Vase, species uncertain

Here is another piece that was completed recently. I am uncertain as to the species. It turned very easily with minimal tearout. I initially rough turned it and DNA'd it, finish turned it after a few weeks. Finished with DO & poly, Beall buffed. Approx. 5 x 9. Comments welcome. ...and...
